Feature Article - Embracing the Seasons of Change

Connect & Grow Magazine: Edition 11 July - August 2024

Life is constantly changing, and just like the season, there is always a time for rest and a time for growth!

Every season brings a different energy; for each of us, it means something different.

Right now, here in Australia, it is winter, and it is cold in many states, especially the southern and northern states; it is colder for them, but the temperature, many say, is still warm to hot.

Winter can make us want to snuggle up with a good book or a partner, stay inside more, and be less active, especially outside. However, some love the colder weather and enjoy being outside more.

Winter is when things slow down a little if you run a business. That can be frustrating if you have yet to plan for it and rely on the income. Hang in there and keep doing what you can, as consistency will eventually pay off.

If you have personal projects you want to achieve, winter may be the right time to start them if they are specific to winter. Taking the time to reflect and rest is essential for your well-being. Summer is when everything grows and blossoms, so if you are in the northern hemisphere, it can be the perfect time for a new project.

Embracing Change

Are you ready to embrace change with excitement and passion, with an open mind?

How well do you embrace change? Change can feel uncomfortable for some people, and it can be enormous for others. It can feel confronting and create anxiety for some people, especially those who have neurodivergent traits.

As you choose what it is you are ready to change in your life, and as you choose to step fully into a life that you enjoy, you will find that you have some excitement as well as other emotions and thoughts, and that is okay it is expected, this is where having an incredible support team is essential, people who understand you as the person you are.

Self-Care Habits.

What you do in winter for self-care is often very different from what you do in summer, and in the other seasons, you are transitioning between the two. For many people, winter means snuggling up with a good book or a movie, while for summer, it could be a walk at night along the beach or somewhere fun and more relaxed.

Many people forget to drink as much water in winter as they usually do in summer, yet it is still essential as with heating on, we can still become dehydrated.

Depending on how you choose to respond to the different seasons is entirely up to you, and it is essential to understand whether you are being responsive or reactive to what each season brings. When we choose to react, it may not always be positive for our health and wellbeing, as reactions usually come from a place of fear, stress, and worry rather than being responsive, which is making an informed decision.

Take a moment to think about your current self-care routine. What brings you relaxation and inner peace? What is taking you closer to your goals of enjoying your life, and what are you noticing that you are doing that is not helping you with self-care?

Taking time to relax and doing things that help you have the energy to enjoy your life is essential, especially at this time with the cost of living being what it is.

Be you!

You will start feeling more grounded as you embrace changes in your life, celebrate who you are, know your habits, and accept who you are.

Understanding who you are and what brings you joy, happiness, health, and much more is critical to your overall health and well-being. It is also very important to know that there will always be change and how you can embrace change with love and certainty. Remember, no one else views the world exactly as you do; while many may be similar, they are NOT you. Be you, love you, and believe in you!
